The star has given the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound award prize money to the trust for venues, which functions to protect the UK's independent concert spaces.
The star was presented with the prize on October 16 as his new release People Watching was declared the outstanding release of the past year.
The musician has decided to hand the money over to the Music Venues Trust, in acknowledgment of the crucial part grassroots venues played in his early career.
"I personally couldn't be pursuing my current career if it wasn't for all the shows I played around the region, and elsewhere, when I was starting out," said Sam Fender. "These spaces are legendary, but they are in difficulty."
Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these locations have shut down – approximately 16% of the entire UK sector.
Recently, major artists like Pulp, Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its initiatives to help venues survive, by including a modest fee to their admission fees, which goes to help local stages.
Sam Fender also joined in, raising in excess of £100,000 on his live tour to help thirty-eight small stages across England, Scotland, and Wales.
The money supported venues that were confronting potential shutdown due to challenges stemming from flooding, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and neighbor objections.
Some locations received funding support in upgrading facilities and gear that positively impacted musicians and fans.
"The concept that funds from shows in big venues backs the local stages, where it begins for artists like me, is just sensible," the star has stated.
He is among several artists to give his award prize money to charitable organizations.
When they received the award in the mid-90s for their album their work, frontman Cocker stated that the group would contribute their winnings to the organization the charity.
In 2002, artist the artist divided her prize across a few charities, including the children's charity and a Sickle Cell charity.
"And I donated a thousand pounds to Highgate Newtown, to their gymnastics program, because I trained in gymnastics when I was younger and they lacked better apparatus," Ms Dynamite told a publication.
Previously, Ezra Collective gave their funds to the community center that nurtured their band, as well as other grassroots music organisations.
And 1994 winners M People contributed their winnings to a multiple sclerosis charity after a friend was found to have the disease.
"The victory was sufficient," stated artist the singer. "The cash was the cherry on top but we didn't need the extra, because we had the honor. So our success impacted another person's life."
Recently, the trust revealed it had saved a couple of grassroots venues in the South East, by transferring them to public stewardship.
The Joiners in that area and The Croft in the city were acquired under the public acquisition program, which is backed by the arts council and music fans who acquire "ownership units" in the venues.
